This book devastated me. Outright devestated me for days. I would love to give it one star just because of the amount of crying I did after reading it, I really do, but it's just too good. I will never read it again but I'm happy now that it's been six months after I finished it that I did. Moyes has done something so brave here, she's painted two characters you fall in love with so deeply even though you know where it's all going. This is a true testimony to how a contemporary commercial author can make a stand about a contentious issue in a phenomenally powerful way.
This lady is a master of characterization with such a clear, simple voice. I love her other work and I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a good cry. Make sure you don't do what I did and think you were going to have a light holiday read.
